洋服選び
先日、施設内で衣類販売業者による、冬物衣類販売が行われました。
1フロアを使用し仮設店舗が出来上がりました。
そこへ、施設利用者様がぞくぞく来店し購入されていきます。
続いて、私は全盲の利用者様と一緒に来店し、気に入った服を探します。
全盲ということは、服が見えません。
私は、必死に服の形、色、素材を説明します。特にデザインは分かりやすく伝えていきます。
利用者様に気に入った服を着ていただきたいために選び説明をしていきます。
しかし、利用者様は90歳を過ぎています。
「この服はペイズリー柄のシャツですよ」といっても伝わるはずもなく考えた末、
「顕微鏡を覗いて、微生物を見た時の図に似てますよ！」といって
「あっそう」と言われ、利用者様は他のを探し始める始末。
「この服は、何色？」と利用者様に聞かれ、紫に近い色の服を私に見せてきます。
しかし、紫にも明るい紫、濃い紫、青に近い紫、淡い紫と色々あり、また、当てはまる色が見当たらず考えてしまいます。そんな時、皆さんはどのように伝えますか？
長さや、生地の厚さ、形は、触ってみて利用者様は分かりますが、
色、柄などは触っても分かりません。
具体的に伝える事の大切さ、
イメージしていただく事のできる表現、
かつて見えていた物の色に例えてみる
といった、工夫が必要と改めて感じた瞬間でした。
普段、当たり前に過ごしていると適当にしている事が多く、
曖昧な表現でも何となく伝わってしまう事が多い中で生活しています。
しかし、何となくで伝えると大きな誤解を招く事もあります。
だからこそ、もっと、もっと相手に分かりやすくイメージできるように「言葉の表現力」を見につけたいものですね。
ちなみに、他の利用者様は15分もあれば終わるところを、
私たちは、来店してから1時間かけてやっと買い物終了となりました。
利用者様は疲れも忘れ、うれしそうに洋服を抱えて部屋に戻られました。
利用者様にとって「あーじゃない、こーじゃない」とたくさん話ができたのも楽しかったかな？
と思い充実した１日になりました。
